Ghost of Spirit Bear: Conflicts and Resolution

My main character (Cole) faces some pretty big conflicts but here is one of them. When he and Peter are back at school for the first time since their fight in the first book, Cole and Peter are faced by 5 kids in a “posse” lead by a boy named Keith. They pick on Cole and Peter hoping to get on Cole’s nerves. They do succeed in getting on Coles nerves and he pushes one of the 5 kids down, which leads to trouble. Luckily the principal and government decide not to send Cole to jail for this small threat. Now he has learned his lesson and knows he has to be more careful when it comes to Keith and his “posse”. I think Cole attacks the conflicts he faces pretty well. It did take Cole a little while to figure out the best way to stop Keith from bullying him and Peter. He tried many things, such as calling the principal when they were about to get beat up, fighting with words, and even saying that even if Keith hit them once they would press charges against him. When they said that, that got Keith to be by himself, the other members of his “posse” backed away and said I can’t get in trouble my parents would “kill me”. But that didn’t stop Keith he started kicking and punching Cole and Peter over and over again. That night Cole pressed charges against Keith for assault. The next day Keith was skateboarding towards Cole getting ready to tackle him, when Cole stepped out of the way. Keith fell and hit his head on the sidewalk and Cole took care of Keith until the ambulance arrived to take Keith to the hospital. It took a lot of courage, but Cole visited him in the hospital and then dropped the charges once he got home. I think I would’ve done the same thing as Cole because it taken me time to figure out how to stop Keith.  But, like him, in the end I would’ve found a solution that worked. I don’t think I would’ve handled it much differently, but hopefully I would’ve figured out what to do faster. I think that how Cole handled the conflict is not the kind of person he was in the first book. But it is definitely the kind of person he is in the second book.

Ghost Of Spirit Bear: Required Category

This book is about Cole Matthews, a juvenile delinquent. In the first book of this series Cole hurts a boy named Peter very badly and now Peter stutters when he talks. The government decides to send Cole to an island for one year to learn how to not be angry all of the time (in the first book). Now (in the second book) he just returned from the island and is now reformed, but Cole is warned that if he did one thing wrong (getting into a fight) he would be sent to jail. Cole was extra careful about his behavior. Cole’s physical appearance isn’t described in the book but I picture him as being, tall, strong, and bold faced. In the first book Cole was very aggressive, mean, always angry, and he was a bully. But now that he has been reformed he is nice, happy most of the time, and he is actually best friends with Peter now. His main goal is to change his school mascot into a spirit bear after being mauled by a spirit bear while he was at the island in the first book. He always thinks of staying calm and not being frustrated no matter what situation he’s in because he knows it’ll just lead to trouble. Cole is pretty confident with himself but he can be not so confident at times, Example: when he has to speak in front of his entire school and even more people than that, he doesn’t think he will do good or he thinks  that he will screw it up. Cole is definitely not admirable in the 1st book but in the second book he is a leader for his school and a very good speaker when he wants to be, so I do think that Cole is very admirable, Example: Again when Cole is speaking in front of his school he really reaches out and says some pretty amazing stuff that gets people to really like him. I do not think of Cole as self-centered, he is always thinking of other people, Example: He is always wondering about different people’s opinions like Peter and his principal. A couple things that make Cole different from other people, is that he has become a positive influence on people after just one year of rehabilitating himself on an island. He is also a juvenile delinquent which makes him different from many people.

Stitches

When I was about 6 or 7 years old my sister and I were playing tag inside (not a good idea). My sister was it and she was chasing me around my downstairs. I was looking behind me to see where she was when BAM! I ran into the door hinge. My ear was sliced at the top and gushing blood. My parents put a tower over my ear and we rushed over to the hospital. Then it seemed like only a couple minuets later I was lying in a bed, and a docter was standing next to me getting ready to put stitches in my ear. They didn't put me to sleep so I could feel every stitch that they put in my ear. Each stitch felt like an electrifying jolt that hurt terribly. I counted off 9 stitches. Then after that I went back home and relaxed.

AAA Flames Easton Cup!

It was a very sunny day almost no clouds in sight in Blaine, Minnesota. I was walking into the arena bag on my back and sticks in my hand. I start walking down to my locker room, put my bag down, left the locker room and started walking around. After a couple minuets it was time for our team to warm up. We ran outside and did our normal warm ups. After our warm-ups we ran back inside to our locker room. Our coach gave us a 5-10 minuete talk then we started getting dressed. We had faced the team we were playing the CCM Capitals, we beat them last time we played them too which was a good sign. But we knew they would be coming out wanting revenge.
After our 5 minuete warm-up (on-ice) they announcers announced out starting line up and we started the game.
After an intense 1st period the score was tied 1-1. Quickly in the 2nd period the Capitals took the lead 2-1. Then about 5 minuets later on a very nice passing play led to a shot from the point which got a tip on the way Flames 2 Capitals 2! Now very late in the 2nd period Capitals take the lead again 3-2. We were destroying them in the 3rd period but we just couldnt get a goal. Shot after shot, save after save. Then finally we put one past the Capitals goalie to make it 3-3!!! Then a couple minuets later with only 1:30 left in the 3rd period we rip one past the Capitals goalie to make it 4-3 were winning!! They pulled their goalie for an extra attacker they were getting shots like crazy but finally after some amazing defense and goaltending the buzzer went off! The AAA Flames had won the Easton Cup!!!! After the game we got championship t-shirts which were pretty cool. I left the locker room and went home.
